Mooncake packaging is a seasonal centerpiece in Asian markets, and a beautifully printed metal tin elevates the gift and preserves the cakes. CNTINWORLD offers 191 ready-made mooncake tin molds in classic round and square designs sized for 4, 6 or 8 pieces, plus keepsake boxes that recipients reuse for years.
Festive decoration is our specialty: rich reds and golds, hot-stamped foil, embossed patterns and elegant line art give mooncake tins the premium look the holiday demands. We produce for bakeries, hotels, corporate gift programs and export distributors serving Chinese communities worldwide.
Our tins keep mooncakes fresh with airtight lids and food-grade inner coating. The sturdy construction protects delicate cakes during transport, and our export packing minimizes dent risk on long routes.
Because molds are ready, you can order low MOQ for testing and scale quickly for the seasonal rush. Sampling in July–August still leaves time for full production before the festival.
Mooncake tins are specified by cake count first and everything else second. Four, six and eight piece rounds are the core formats, with square and rectangular boxes used where the set needs to nest inside an outer gift bag or a corporate presentation box. Single-piece and two-piece tins serve premium individual gifting. Getting the internal tray spacing right matters as much as the outer size, because mooncakes are soft and will mark each other if they are allowed to shift inside the tin during transport.
The festive palette is narrow and unforgiving. Deep reds, golds and ink blacks dominate, and foil stamping plus embossed patterns are effectively standard rather than optional for the premium end of the market. Print registration has to be tight because festive patterns often combine a fine line motif with a large flat colour, and any misregistration is immediately visible against a red ground. We proof festive designs on the actual tin body rather than on a flat sheet for exactly that reason.
The Mid-Autumn calendar is the tightest in packaging. Bakeries that order late routinely miss the festival, and the bottleneck is usually sampling and artwork approval rather than production capacity. Samples from an existing mooncake mold take 7–15 days and bulk production 15–30 days, so artwork should be confirmed by early summer for a September festival. Because the 191 molds are already tooled, there is no tooling lead time to absorb — the only variable you control is how early you start.
A meaningful share of mooncake tins are never discarded. The tin is reused for jewellery, tea or stationery long after the festival, and corporate buyers know the keepsake factor is part of what the recipient remembers. That justifies investing in the lid as the hero surface, with foil and emboss carrying the festive motif, and in a base that can hold a printed story or a brand card. If your programme has several gifting tiers — employees, key accounts and retail — the same mold can serve all three at different decoration levels, which keeps tooling to a single decision.
